Vic: Seized car new lead to Bendigo mother murder

Victoria Police have seized a car they believe may be linked to the murder of a Bendigo
woman, shot dead in her home as she slept beside her six-year-old son.

The body of VICKI JACOBS, 37, was found in her Bendigo home on June 12 last year, following
what police described as an execution-style killing.

Detective Inspector JOHN KAPETANOVSKI, who heads the taskforce investigating the killing,
says police are carrying out forensic tests on a white Ford Falcon.

He's urged the anonymous caller to Crime Stoppers who provided police with information
leading to the discovery of the car to call back with any further details.

Det Insp KAPETANOVSKI says the witness observed two males leaving a stolen Ford Telstar
and getting into the Ford Falcon.

He says the caller may be able to help police identify who was driving the Falcon,
which was found in metropolitan Melbourne.

Ms JACOBS was the ex-wife of a man serving 32 years' jail for an execution-style double
murder in South Australia in 1996.

She gave evidence against her former husband, GERALD DAVID PRESTON, who had allegedly
been hired by the Hell's Angels motorcycle gang to carry out the double murder.
